Job Description
The teacher鈥檚 assistant (TA) will attend all classes on time each week to assist the instructor with tasks during the class, including aiding students in using Visual Studio Code throughout the class period. The TA will also assist the instructor with additional tasks as assigned.
Primary Functions
- Knowledge of Visual Studio Code, or similar HTML/CSS coding software, and prior completion of the Web Production course.
- Review course materials prior to class.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and assist students with software.
- Aid in assisting with the facilitation of in-class activities while staying aware of students in need.
- Support students in developing design work and assist with course content.
- Encourage student participation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review course materials with the instructor prior to the day of class to ensure you are well-versed in the material being taught.
- Assist instructor in facilitating course delivery.
- Arrive in a timely manner and attend all class sessions and field trips.
- Set up 1 hour a week of office hours to assist students in a professional on-campus setting during business hours; up to 2 hours is allowed max.
- Foster a positive learning environment for students.
- Support student learning and success.
- Ensure timely feedback with accuracy.
- Effective communication skills to discuss course content and assignment steps with students.
Skills and Qualifications
The position will call for a knowledgeable Teaching Assistant (TA) for the Web Production course, with proficiency in HTML/CSS coding and a strong understanding of layout, typography, and color theory design principles. Must have excellent communication skills to explain concepts, give feedback, and conduct critiques effectively. Patience that can be provided individually in class and during office hours is important to build a comfortable learning environment while working with course students. Provide also a strong collaborative mindset and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications
Recent experience in Web Design and Web Production courses, and experience with Wix, is a plus.
