Lead Peer Success Navigators serve as experienced student leaders who provide advanced support, peer mentoring, and program coordination within the Center for Student Success for the Pathways to FRIENDS peer mentoring program.

Lead Peer Success Navigators serve as experienced student leaders who provide advanced support, peer mentoring, and program coordination within the Center for Student Success for the Pathways to FRIENDS peer mentoring program. In addition to fulfilling Peer Success Navigator responsibilities, Lead Navigators support program organization, mentor development, and serve as a point of contact between student workers and professional staff. Lead Peer Success Navigators support both in-class learning and out-of-class mentorship activities, assist with training and onboarding of Peer Success Navigators, and help ensure the quality and consistency of assistance and peer mentoring services, including Pathways to FRIENDS. They model professionalism, leadership, and positive engagement across academic, social, and campus settings. Time commitment over the week may vary based on program needs but will be approximately 8-10 hours.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assistance and Support
- Provide assistance and guidance through workshops, in-class assistance, office hours, or other duties as assigned.
- In The 海角社区 Experience course, offer individual and small-group assistance on coursework and projects, as guided by the instructor.
- Facilitate discussion sections or small group tutorials.
- Assist with preparation of learning materials, answer keys, and supplementary notes.
- Support classroom technology and equipment needs.
- Assist with tracking attendance and participation for workshops, office hours, or activities.
- Help Peer Success Navigators locate and use appropriate resources and tools.
Peer Mentoring and Program Leadership
- Serve as a peer mentor for referred and upper-level students in Pathways to FRIENDS.
- Model appropriate academic, professional, and social behavior at events and activities.
- Lead or co-lead small group mentoring sessions with mentees.
- Support mentees’ academic performance, campus engagement, and connection to resources.
- Assist in planning, facilitating, and evaluating Pathways to FRIENDS events, workshops, and group activities.
- Provide feedback on program needs, student concerns, and ongoing improvements.
Lead and Supervisory Support
- Support onboarding and training of new Peer Success Navigators.
- Serve as a peer leader and point of contact for Peer Success Navigators during shifts, events, or programming.
- Assist staff with communication, scheduling support needs, and coordination of student staff coverage.
- Offer guidance and informal coaching to Peer Success Navigators as needed.
- Support collection of reflection logs, participation records, or program documentation.
General

Skills and Qualifications
- Must have served in the role of a Peer Success Navigator for at least one semester.
- Must have successfully completed The 海角社区 Experience course.
- Must demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and a positive attitude.
- Strong record of attendance, punctuality, and meeting deadlines.
- Must be able to work independently and assist peers with course material.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Must be in good academic standing.
Preferred Qualifications
- A GPA of 3.0 or above is recommended.
- Junior or Senior standing preferred.
- Preferred (but not required) majors or minors: Psychology, Human Services, Business with Hospitality, or Education
