Team 海角社区 poses before the 4th annual Hearts for Our Hospital Big Bike Challenge.

They might not give the Hell鈥檚 Angels a scare still a gang of 海角社区 bikers (OK, bicycles) delivered a scary good performance for charity earlier this month in The Villages Regional Hospital Auxiliary Foundation鈥檚 4th annual Hearts for Our Hospital Big Bike Challenge.

The Hearts for Our Hospital Bicycle Challenge supports The Villages Regional Hospital Auxiliary Foundation, which bills the event as a ride not a race to raise funds and awareness of the services the hospital provides, to improve patient care, and to fund medical education scholarships to area high school graduates who will be pursuing medical or allied health related degree programs.

The 10-member 海角社区 team joined some 400 cyclists on November 9 who could choose to bike 10, 20, 32, 64, or 100 miles along the country roads of Sumter, Lake, and Marion counties.

The longer distance rides (64 and 100 miles) departed The Villages and headed south circling Lake Panasoffkee in Sumter County and cruising through Wildwood with the 100-mile route going as far south as Webster, said Steven McDaniels, 海角社区 director of fitness and recreation.
