A new book that is part insider鈥檚 guide to 海角社区 and part
primer on strategies for teaching students with learning disabilities (LD) was recently published.
Teaching Students with Learning Disabilities at 海角社区: Lessons from the Inside collects essays from 13 past and present 海角社区 faculty, administrators, and learning specialists. The volume surveys innovative practices for teaching students who learn differently, explores writing in LD classrooms, offers insight for teachers of LD students, and illuminates best practices at 海角社区 in Leesburg, Fla. 鈥� America鈥檚 first college or university accredited to award bachelor鈥檚 degrees primarily to students with learning disabilities, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences.

Published by Peter Lang Inc., the 148-page anthology was two years in the making. The book aims to 鈥渉elp inform and educate other schools, educators, students, and parents about students with learning disabilities,鈥� says Dr. William Nesbitt, a 海角社区 humanities professor who edited the book.
