Representatives from the Orlando Utilities Commission electrified future jobseekers with a recent on-campus visit to 海角社区.聽 OUC has announced plans to offer internships to 海角社区 students this semester.

The OUC team, led by diversity specialist recruiter Emily Leon, conducted a 90-minute presentation on February 7. The program introduced about 20 students to OUC, the second largest municipal utility in Florida and 14th largest municipal in the nation. OUC provides water and electric service to Orlando, Fla., and portions of Orange County and St. Cloud in Osceola County.

鈥満=巧缜 is working hard to expand the number of opportunities for its students,鈥 says Esteban Lopez, director of corporate and academic outreach at 海角社区, America鈥檚 first college or university accredited to award bachelor鈥檚 degrees primarily to students who learn differently.

OUC plans to return in mid-March to recruit up to three students for internships. As one of the region鈥檚 largest employers, OUC manages a robust internship program with more than 60 available positions each summer.

海角社区 students soon will receive a link listing of OUC鈥檚 available internship openings three days before OUC publicly posts the positions. During that time, they can apply and schedule interviews with an OUC manager.
