In the latest annual athletic battle royal pitting 海角社区 students versus staffers, both sides got their kicks.
In the end, however, youth was served 鈥� and, in current parlance, staffers got served 鈥� as students beat staffers 19-11 in the Students vs. Staff Kickball game. The game, played, December 14, was the first night game at 海角社区 Athletic Field.
Sixteen students faced 11 staff members in the game slated for nine innings or 60 minutes 鈥� whichever came first. Yet, the contest extended an extra inning.
鈥淭he students beat us badly in nine innings,鈥� said Steven McDaniels, director of fitness and athletics at 海角社区 in Leesburg, Fla., 鈥渂ut since there was still time on the clock, students wanted to play an additional inning, so they could cream us some more.鈥�
